2nd April 2008 (RP with

Wednesday, 2 April 2008 07:03 pmThe second of April would have to be one of the hardest days on James' calendar. At least, it had been for the last three years. Today was no exception. The day after April Fools Day, which inevitably James didn't see the fun in any longer like he used to.
He thought he was going to be okay. He really did. He convinced himself that alone was the best. He didn't need Mark for company, he didn't need (or want) to go to David's family's home for dinner, he didn't need his Mum to drive to New York just so he had company. Although he did appreciate each and every offer, he was certain he could pass the day by without them.
Though error of judgment always would be a natural part of human nature.
He somehow found himself standing at Izzy's front door, hand poised to knock but not quite getting there yet. He swallowed heavily, his eyes and nose aching from spending a good portion of the previous night in tears on his balcony as he watch the City see in the day. By sheer luck (he refused to believe in fate), it was Izzy's half day at work. He'd called and discovered of Sascha that Iz had apparently switched her usual monthly half day of every second Friday to today for some reason. He'd debated calling her, but instead something made him decide he may as well just drop by on his way. But as he stood here, dressed in his best plain back suit with black shirt and tie, he was starting to realise that he didn't want to be alone any longer at all...
Why did it just seem to get harder and harder to be lonely at this time of year? Wasn't it supposed to get easier?
He looked away briefly, biting down on his lip, as he briefly considered forgetting it and running back and jumping in the elevator. He quickly knocked twice, then shoved his hands in his pockets and dipped his head, his shoulders drooping as he looked down at his shoes while he waited and hoped she was in and answered before he really did lose his nerve.
