2.1: 13 Superstitions/Habits (can mix them)

1. I smoke when I’m stressed
2. I steal people’s pens without realising it
3. I forget birthdays unless they are written in inch high letters in my day planner
4. I bite my nails
5. I leave the toilet seat up (I’m male. You want it down, leave a sign to bloody remind me!)
6. M&Ms are my favourite candy, but I won’t eat the green ones
7. I’m left handed and have a habit of smudging out my writing on the whiteboard as I go without realising it
8. I sing in the shower
9. When I’m anxious, I’ll bounce my leg up and down (pisses my partner off when we’re staking out)
10. I lose my keys and wallet far too much to be healthy
11. I swear too much when I’m angry or frustrated
12. I always seem to forget to buy toilet paper (probably because I hate shopping and want to get the hell out as fast as possible)
13. I leave after one night stands before the person has woken up more often than I should.

Oh, not at all. I'm diabetic. Type I.

Ah, yes, that would do it. Is it hard to watch what you eat, or do you not have much of a sweet tooth to begin with?

I've always had a really sweet tooth. Still do, which is why the M&Ms are what I go for because I can have a couple and convince myself I'm satisfied. They're really the only sugar I have; I go for sweetners, but even then, they say too much has a laxative effect. 'They' are right, unfortunately.

It is always harder to give something up when you like it so much. Have you ever tried diabetic recipes, for cakes and cookies? That might sate your sweet tooth.

I'm not much of a cook, but some friends have made some stuff for me. They were quite nice. It's the remembering to eat at the right times that's my biggest hassle with it. I have a habit of getting too buried in something and forget to eat.

I have heard that can be the trouble, not having a proper diet. With you and work I suppose it's quite a bother to actually eat something good for you. You could start hiding various food snacks around your person, that's a rather amusing mental image.

Apples earrings *Laughs* I am fortunate to have work mates who keep an eye on me and have no qualms about smacking me in the head and succinctly telling me to eat.

I bet they would look very handsome on you. *Chuckled* As long as you are being looked after, wouldn't want you falling down on the job.

I did that last year. Nearly gave my partner a heart attack.

I suppose there is always shock when someone that looks so healthy just faints. Have you fainted since?

I do now and again, but only when I've not been looking after myself, so I only have myself to blame.

This last year, I was in diabetic ketoacidosis. I thought I just had food poisoning, but I ended up in a coma for a week. It was pretty scary. The worst my condition has ever been.

Good Lord, that does sound rather frightening, I am glad you are looking after yourself though.

I hate hospitals, they are the worst place to be, next to a jungle in a rain storm. They smell like sterile death.
